The UTV-SBI-19L is designed specifically to function with the new 13+ volt Lithium batteries and stator type charging mechanisms. At least one of your batteries should be Lithium to benefit from the product’s unique PEP.

Lithium batteries are a different type of battery with advanced attributes that require unique management programming to maintain those attributes. The lithium batteries available for this industry are NOT 12-volt batteries but rather 13+ volt batteries and need an isolator programmed to deal with this and other attributes that may not be so obvious. We’ve taken the time and done the research and testing and are pleased to announce the just released UTV specific Lithium Dual Battery Connect and Monitor Kit.

This battery isolator system kit provides you with the absolute best charge management of your Lithium accessory battery while protecting your primary battery for starting. This kit features a NEW single voltmeter with dual blue displays. This shock/waterproof voltmeter allows real-time monitoring of the charge state of your batteries.

All True® battery isolator kits feature the industries only fully adhesive sealed 100% waterproof cables. These kits allow for two types of mounting. 3M Dual Lock fastener or leave suspended in cables. Unmatched quality and performance from True Amalgamated. There are currently no other battery Isolators on the market designed to work efficiently with Lithium batteries.

This unit allows the combining of Lithium with the other types of vehicle batteries without compromising those valuable lithium attributes.

    It’s working wonderfully between my second AGM starting battery (which is mainly used as a voltage spike absorber) and my new custom-built lifepo4 lithium battery, bypassing the BMS I purchased (which had a low 5A charge rate) and utilizing the BMS for my transformer for low voltage shutoff.

    Looking at the charge curves for AGM and lifepo4, they complement each other with an isolator like this one. You get the advantages of greater load carrying capacity pretty much until the lifepo4 hits 15% resources, and while charging back up, the isolator cuts off over and over, the AGM startup battery neutralizing the voltage surges that occur between the lifepo4 and the alternator, and trickle charging the lifepo4 until it reaches 13.0V, then generates its way up

    To prevent overheating at idle, I have a modern alternator with adaptive current and its own temperature sensor (lifepo4 draws the maximum current, unlike SLA). When the engine hits 14V, the lifepo4 batteries equalize and top up at highway speed (2000rpm for diesel), which corresponds exactly to the lifepo4 charge graphs.

    Do not do this on an older vehicle/alternator. Diesel engines are also more likely to have strong alternators.

    It works precisely as expected!
    It was quite simple to install, but one tweak would make it much easier: I didn’t have a crimper for battery terminal lugs and didn’t want to buy one to create two crimps, so I soldered the terminals.

    At idle, the battery isolator for lithium batteries would cycle, but it only showed 13.3/4 volts flowing to both batteries. The true magic began when I took the engine barely off idle. Cranking battery voltage increased from 13.3V to 14.4V. The bluetooth app for the lithium battery showed the lithium in charge mode, with amp hours being added rather than deleted, despite the fact that all of my gadgets were still turned on. I was able to adjust the cut-out voltage to 13.2v, and the cut-in value I had originally set at 13.8v worked well. I increased the cut-in/cut-out delay from 5 to 10 seconds. With those settings, the True lithium dual battery kit performed as expected. I am quite satisfied with the early results. Only
